Courtyard garden style
Perfect if you want to relax and entertain all year round in a small but beautiful and varied garden that requires very little maintenance.
When we think of a "Courtyard" style we tend to think of smaller town-house gardens and a place of sanctuary from the day to day hustle and bustle of life. Perhaps the lawn will be replaced by a contemporary gravel bed, or maybe keep the lawn but have an artifial one instead - the ultimate low maintenance! And todays artifical lawns look incredibly realistic, some even laid in such a way that moss grows on them to really make them hard to distinguish from the real thing! The sound of running water is always relaxing but something discreet and small would be best here, maybe stainless steel, or recycled glass? Lighting will really make the space come to life at night - maybe uplight the plants, or place LEDs in the deck or how about sculptural lightforms as a feature in their own right?
